Emperor and Daimyo.

Emperor.
In the story, the real emperor was replaced when he was a child. Now the young emperor is actually transformed from "Tengu", the heavenly dog. Although as the article says, during the Sengoku period, 'the Emperor was largely a marginalized ceremonial figure'. So he probably has no power to rule the country but as an emperor, he has the greatest place to hide.
Most of the time, he loves playing pranks on people, cuz he doesn't need to do much "work". When he grows up, he starts killing those "unpleasant" Daimyo lords.

Daimyo.
There are some scars on his face. One of them, on his right eye, blinded him. The fake emperor scratched him when the first time he transformed into "Tengu". Daimyo knew the little emperor is fake, but he still wanna protect him.
